HINT #1 NUMERO UNO NUMERO UN NUMMER EINS
This region of the country is home to some of the world’s largest technology companies, including Microsoft, Intel, Expedia, and Amazon. Aerospace is also an important industry, with Boeing and Air Canada having a large presence in the region. During World War II, Boeing was involved in a secret B-17 bomber factory in this region. It needed to be hidden from any enemies, so a Hollywood set designer got to work and camouflaged the factory creating an entire fake neighborhood on top of the plant, including fake trees, sidewalks and houses. “Boeing Wonderland” was demolished in 2011. |

BONUS FUN FACT:
Native American legend says the Great Spirit built a bridge of stone that was a gift of great magnitude to help the people cross what is now the Colombia River. The Great Spirit’s sons fell into war with each other and destroyed the natural bridge in their fighting.
An enormous landslide formed a natural dam in the river high enough for the natives to safely cross. The bridge was called “The Bridge of the Gods.” Around the 1690’s the Bridge of the Gods collapsed during the Great Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquakes.
In 1920, the U.S. War Department issued a construction permit for a bridge to connect Cascade Locks, Oregon and Stevenson, Washington. The Wauna Toll Bridge Company completed the bridge in 1926.
You will drive over this bridge just before reaching our resort, so get your camera and toll money ready.
